We have an experienced staff-team who are committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our beneficiaries and who enjoy working in this busy and challenging environment.
We set high standards for our services and try to ensure that all our team have the necessary support to be able to offer a person-cantered service that respects every beneficiary as an individual.
In turn, Casa Ioana’s volunteers ensure that beneficiaries engage in meaningful activities whilst offering them practical advice and support.

Andreea Gheorghe joined Casa Ioana as a social worker in February 2006 and later appointed social services manager in August 2008. She studied “Social Work and Theology” in Piteşti University and graduated in 2005.
Andreea says that she enjoys working at Casa Ioana because it has given her the opportunity to put into practice what she has learnt in university and work in a unique environment. She says that she finds her new position as manager both challenging and rewarding.

Cristina Enache joined Casa Ioana as a social worker in February 2007. Cristina studied “Sociology and Social Work” at Bucharest University and graduated in July 2006. In October 2007, she embarked on a masters’ degree course in “Human Resources Management”.
Cristina says that she enjoys working at Casa Ioana because she completed her university practical placement at Casa Ioana and was impressed by the ACASĂ Programme. Cristina also enjoys the team spirit found at Casa Ioana

Dana Enache joined Casa Ioana as a social worker in October 2008. Dana Cristina studied “Sociology and Social Work” at Bucharest University and graduated in July 2008. She is presently on a master’s degree course in ”Strategic Management in social development”.
Daniela says that she enjoys working at Casa Ioana because she likes to work with and for people. To help them resolve their issues and to offer the support that they need. Also, it’s an opportunity for her to work with a professional and dynamic young team.

Elena Darie joined Casa Ioana as a volunteer in April 2007 before being employed as a psychologist in November 2008. Elena studied psychology at the Faculty of Sociology and Psychology, Spiru Haret in Bucharest and graduated in July 2008. She is now studying for a masters’ degree course in “Psyho-diagnosis and psychological counselling” at the Ecological University. Elena is training to be a therapist at the Romanian Experiential Psychotherapy Society.
Elena says that she enjoys working at Casa Ioana because she enjoys the team spirit and the emphasis on helping beneficiaries reach their full potential together with psychological support.

Nicoleta Dinu joined Casa Ioana as the office assistant in July 2008. Nicoleta is in her last year of studying “Sociology and Social Work” at Bucharest University.
Nicoleta says that she enjoys working at Casa Ioana because there is a close relationship between her studies and her working environment. She also enjoys the team spirit at Casa Ioana and the opportunity to develop her IT and language skills.

Ian Tilling is a founding member of Casa Ioana. Ian has helped shape the way that Casa Ioana has developed, particularly since it changed its focus to homelessness in 1995. He is a former British police officer and moved to Romania at the beginning of 1992.
Ian says that he enjoys working at Casa Ioana because it has allowed him to work closely with homeless people and work alongside a committed team of young professional people who understand that complex problems require comprehensive solutions.
