WHAT WE DO

The ACASĂ Programme

The ACASĂ Programme incorporates all the various projects/activities implemented by Casa Ioana since 1998.

The Programme delivers temporary accommodation and innovative community-based social services to homeless families, single women and men. It has two main elements:

• temporary accommodation

• social services

The overall objective of the ACASĂ Programme is to contribute to homeless people achieving their full potential.

The effectiveness of support and accommodation in encouraging homeless people to achieve their full potential rests not only on its ability to provide assistance within a safe environment, but also its ability to empower individuals to make choices, influence structures and take control over their lives.

The support implied is organised (personal and social) support whose aim is to enable homeless people to achieve their full potential. The aim of the provision is to enable people to live independently in the community and involves two key dimensions: the provision of temporary accommodation and the provision of support.

A vital part of Casa Ioana work with homeless people is to prevent homelessness. We do this through our work with beneficiaries to make positive changes in their lives.

Many people at risk of homelessness have damaged and chaotic lives, and may come from difficult backgrounds. Our two temporary accommodation facilities offer families critical support, and ensures that they have a safe and supportive place from which to go forward.
